Boston Red Sox Spring Training 2018 Begins February 14th at JetBlue Park Fenway South

Spring training opens February 1414 at JetBlue Park at Fenway South in Fort Myers. Beginning February 22nd, the Red Sox will start playing what will be a total of 17 home games, including 15 Grapefruit League games and the traditional Northeastern University Huskies and the Boston College Eagles college doubleheader.

  •  February 14th – Pitchers and catchers spend Valentines Day together holding their first workouts
  •  February 19th – Full-squad workouts begin

Workouts are free and open to the public.

The Boston Red Sox open their MLB Spring Training exhibition season Thursday, Feb. 22, at 1:05PM, with a doubleheader against the Northeastern University Huskies and the Boston College Eagles.

The Grapefruit League schedule launches at home at JetBlue Park on Friday, February 23, against their local spring training foes the Minnesota Twins. The matchup is one of seven contests against the Twins with additional home games on March 7 and 16. The Red Sox will travel to Hammond Stadium at the CenturyLink Sports Complex on February 27, March 7, 14, and 25.

The Red Sox will host their American League East rival New York Yankees on Saturday, March 3, at JetBlue Park, and will then visit them at Steinbrenner Field Friday, March 23 in Tampa. Boston will also face the World Series Champion Houston Astros at JetBlue Park on Saturday, March 24.

And as a special treat the Boston Red Sox will play host to the Chicago Cubs

  • Monday, March 26 —  Chicago Cubs, 6:05PM
  • Tuesday, March 27 — Chicago Cubs, 1:05PM

The annual Open House will be held at JetBlue Park on Saturday, February 17, from 11AM to 3PM.  The free event, open to the public, welcomes fans to walk around the park and the grounds while enjoying concessions and entertainment on Fenway South Drive.

The Red Sox’ equipment truck will depart from Fenway Park on Monday, February 5.

The 2018 season is the Red Sox’ seventh at JetBlue Park at Fenway South.

Dates:
Team Practices Begin February 27th Or March 1st (Depending On Practice Night)
First Games Begin March 10th and games played every Saturday through the season.
Championship/Final Games On May 12th, 2018. 

Where:
All Games Are Played At The Sherman Soccer Complex In Gateway. 13260 Griffin Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33913.

Ages:
3 Years To 14 Years. (Note: “U” Stands For “Under”. Example U10 = Under 10 Years Of Age). Note: The Cut Off Date Does Change From The Spring Season To The Fall Season, So The Age Group Your Player Was In During The Fall 2017 Season (If Applicable) May Have Changed For This Season. Parents Wanting Players To Move Up Must Register Their Child In The Age Appropriate Division & Then Contact The League For Approval To Play Up.

Price:
** Late Registration Fee Of $10 Applies After January 28th**

  • $125 Per Player For Gateway Residents (Except U4’s – $100).
  • Non-Gateway Residents Pay An Additional $10 Surcharge;
  • $10 Siblings Discount Per Family (When Siblings Are Registered At The Same Time).
  • Price Includes Full Admiral Soccer Uniform (Shirt, Shorts, & Socks), Player Trophy, Supplemental Insurance, Field Rental, Game Official Fees, And Practice Balls.

 Age Group Formations:
Under 4, & Under 6 Will Will Be Coed Divisions. Under 14,  Maybe Coed Divisions (Depending On The Number Of Registrations, Per Gender). All Other Age Groups Will Play Gender Based Divisions. Under 14’S Play On The Full Size Field (11V11). Note: If We Do Not Have Enough Players To Make An Age Or Gender Division Viable, Refunds Will Be Issued.

Practices:
One Hour, Once A Week On Either Tuesdays Or Thursdays 6PM-7PM Or 7PM-8PM
No Mid-Week Practice For Under 4’S – Additional Time Is Given Prior To Games.
Please Specify (If Needed) A Preferred Night During Registration In The “Notes” Section Of Your Registration.

Players Equipment:
All Players Will Need To Supply Their Own Soccer Cleats, Shin Guards, Soccer Ball, & Water Bottle For All Games & Practices.

Coaches:
Any Person Willing To Volunteer As A Head Coach Or Assistant, Please Make Sure To Register Online Or Indicate In Their Players Notes Section. Experience Is Not A Requirement And All Coaches Receive a GSA Coaches Jersey.

Team Allocation & Team Schedules:
Will Be Issued To Parents After Registration Has Been Closed.
