JetBlue Park

Southeastern Guide Dogs annual Walkathon Event returns to Fort Myers and JetBlue Park on Saturday, April 14th. Southeastern Guide Dogs are excited to be welcomed back to home of the Boston Red Sox. Two and four-legged friends will get to enjoy the interior of this new Spring Training ballpark with many features similar to Boston’s Fenway Park. Southeastern Guide Dogs change lives. Their dogs make a difference, and their Walkathons raise the funds that help them achieve their mission:

To create and nurture a partnership between a visually impaired individual and a guide dog, facilitating life’s journey with mobility, independence and dignity.

The cost to raise and train one guide dog from conception through retirement (usually at age 10) is more than $60,000. All of Southeastern Guides Dogs’ services – which include selective breeding and training for their dogs; on-campus instruction for their students; and lifetime follow-up for their graduates – are provided at no cost to their students. Southeastern Guide Dogs receive no government funding and rely 100% on donations from their community of supporters. More than 85% of all funds go directly into their programs and services.
