JetBlue Park adds programs from Florida Knights Soccer Club
The spring training home of the Major League Baseball’s Boston Red Sox, JetBlue Park, officially announced the addition of the Florida Knights Soccer Club.
The club features ages 3-18 participating in a competitive youth soccer organization, the Knights are scheduled to debut this fall at the complex, which features six full-sized soccer fields.
Global Premier Soccer, headquartered in Boston, is the parent organization of the Knights Soccer Club; their plans are to hold 3 tournaments at JetBlue Park starting over the Labor Day weekend. They are looking for large participation and have affiliated themselves with the Florida Youth Soccer Association and US Club Soccer.
The Knights are also affiliated with Florida Premier Soccer, which also operates organizations in Orlando and Jacksonville. The premier club model pairs the affiliate with an existing youth soccer association, which it complements by offering full-time professional coaching, administrative support and a comprehensive college placement program.
The Knights have partnered with multiple clubs in Southwest Florida including the North Fort Myers Knights Soccer Club, the Sanibel Soccer Club and the Gateway Soccer Association.
The Gateway Soccer Association will benefit from the partnership in in late February and March when JetBlue Park’s soccer fields will be converted into parking lots for the Boston Red Sox’s spring training games.
The Florida Knights Soccer Club will hold tryouts in June.
