In observance of Arbor Day, January 18th  2013, the Gateway Services District and the Gateway Elementary second grade classes, along with the cooperation of Woods and Wetlands Inc. and Mainscape  will be planting Slash Pine Trees and Gulf Muhly grasses in the recreational preserve area between Sherman Soccer Complex at Gateway Community Park and Gateway Elementary School.

 

They will beautify the area with the new plantings, the addition of picnic tables, adding garbage receptacles and recycling containers. Woods and Wetlands Inc is donating the plants and Mainscape will assist the children with the planting. The children of Gateway Elementary School have been learning in class the importance of plants and their role in the environment.
