Gateway Services passes resolution stating the CDD will continue ownership of the Sherman Soccer Complex – Gateway Soccer & Flag Football Leagues to Continue

 

The Gateway Services Community Development District board voted 3-1 on a resolution at last Thursday’s GSCDD meeting to explain that the CDD will maintain ownership of the Sherman Soccer Complex. This will allow the Gateway Soccer League and Gateway Flag Football to continue without having to disclose their financial information to the GSCDD.

 

Board members William Guy, Margaret Fineberg and Pamela Gill voted in favor of the resolution, while Gary Neubauer was opposed to the resolution and Rod Senior was not present.

 

Chairman William Guy of the Gateway Services Community Development District board posted the following open letter to Gateway residents on the GSCDD website at www.gatewaydistrict.org.

Dear Gateway Residents:

At your Supervisors meeting on March 17, 2016 a resolution was adopted (3-1) clarifying that the CDD will continue ownership of the Sherman Soccer Complex, and that a soccer league (and flag football) will continue.

This unique resolution was necessary because of rumors that have caused concern that the Board was contemplating the opposite.

Soccer and flag football and the complex are important to the Gateway neighborhoods and residents. Although these cost a lot of money, governments cannot always make decisions based solely on the dollars, but on the overall good of the community.

I hope you support this decision to continue Gateway as a spectacular place.
