Gulf Coast Humane Society’s Fast and Furriest Run/Walk at JetBlue Park at Fenway South Postponed not Cancelled
Fast and Furriest scheduled for this Saturday, April 4th, to be Postponed… Not Cancelled!
The Gulf Coast Humane Society has been closely following updates on COVID-19 and referencing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Florida Department of Health, the University of Florida Veterinary Program, and more for information.
As many of you are aware the CDC, in accordance with its guidance for large events and mass gatherings, recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States. Due to this recommendation, they will be postponing the upcoming Fast & the Furriest 5K/1 Mile Fun Walk.
They are not cancelling the event, simply postponing. This postponement will give them more time to plan, more time to advertise their sponsors, and more time to make it an even better 10th Annual event!
The Gulf Coast Humane Society deeply regrets this inconvenience and they are working to choose an alternative date in Fall 2020. As soon as they solidify the new date, they will be contacting participants!
Gulf Coast Humane Society will be asking volunteers to consider fostering a shelter pet! They want to see as many dogs and cats in homes as we can right now. If you have to quarantine- let’s do it with a furry friend to keep you company!
