In observance of Arbor Day, January 18th  2013, the Gateway Services District and the Gateway Elementary second grade classes, along with the cooperation of Woods and Wetlands Inc. and Mainscape  will be planting Slash Pine Trees and Gulf Muhly grasses in the recreational preserve area between Sherman Soccer Complex at Gateway Community Park and Gateway Elementary School.   They will beautify the area with the new plantings, the addition of picnic tables, adding garbage receptacles and recycling containers. 5th Annual Gateway Community Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, December 7th at the Commons Pool beginning at 6pm.   Join the Gateway Community Schools and Churches singing Holiday songs and bring an ornament to hang on the tree!   The event will include face painting, balloon twisting, caricaturist, train and pony rides for the children; along with the band JaM2 performing live.  There will be Hot Dogs, Chips, Cookies, Hot Chocolate and Coffee served at No Charge.   Santa…

The Lutheran Services of Lee County and 13 Key Clubs  from Lee and Hendry counties will join a festival for foster children called “Keeping it Home for the Hommies”   The festival will take place Saturday October th, 2012 from 2PM to 7PM at the Gateway Soccer Fields, Sherman Soccer Complex.   The event features bounce houses, water slides, a hay ride, food and games.
