The 2nd Season of Gateway Soccer for the Spring season is planned they are finalizing the\u00a0details for the 2012 Spring Season\u00a0and will be\u00a0getting that information out shortly.\u00a0The Fall Season was a big success and even with a late announcement\/start had pretty good numbers.\u00a0 They are anticipating those numbers to continue to increase as more people are informed of the new Gateway Soccer program.<\/span><\/p>\n The Gateway Soccer Association is actively looking for volunteers for the\u00a02012 Spring Season.\u00a0Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches,\u00a0Team Managers, and General Volunteers.\u00a0 Volunteers on every level are critical to a successful program. Experience is appreciated, but not considered essential. Below you will find some of the roles and responsibilities we are looking for. If you are interested please send an email to info@gatewaysoccer.com<\/a> and specify what role(s) you would be interested in.<\/p>\n Coaches<\/strong><\/p>\n The coach is responsible to instruct players during one hour practice and coach during players scheduled games.\u00a0 Coaches are responsible for the behavior of players and parents and should set a good example for the children.\u00a0 Coaches should be available for practices and games and if not able to attend should arrange for a substitute to work with the players.<\/p>\n Assistant Coaches<\/strong><\/p>\n An Assistant Coach is responsible for helping the coach in practices and games.\u00a0 In the event that the head coach cannot attend a practice or game, the assistant coach would be responsible for the players. You do need to have soccer or coaching experience to sign up for this role. It is our goal at GSA to teach and provide experience to develop these assistants into coaches.<\/p>\n Team Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n The Team Manager is responsible for improving the communication among the coaches, team parents, and players.\u00a0 The team manager should assist the coaches on making telephone calls to players in the event of rain outs or other changes in the schedule.\u00a0 In addition, other events such as communicating team picture schedule and scheduling snacks for players after their games.<\/p>\n General Volunteers<\/strong><\/p>\n Volunteers\u00a0on every level are critical to a successful program. There\u00a0is always additional help that is needed\u00a0throughout the season above the standard coach and team manager roles.\u00a0Many parents have found that they can help out before or after their child’s game.\u00a0Volunteers are needed for game day\u00a0field prep\u00a0(before and\u00a0after the games),\u00a0 helping out in the concession stand serving food and drinks during practices and games, as well as some behind the scenes work.\u00a0\u00a0Gateway Soccer\u00a0appreciates whatever time that you can donate, even if it is just for one hour.<\/p>\n All Games are played at Sherman Soccer Complex – Gateway Soccer FieldsVolunteers<\/h3>\n
