Boston Red Sox interested in developing 20+ acres at JetBlue Stadium at Fenway South

As the Southwest Florida real estate market heats up, the Red Sox have interest in developing the 20 acres at their spring training home. The Boston Red Sox purchased the land from Lee county for $5.5 million in 2010. The 3 parcels are in different sections; one directly in front of the stadium and the other two sections adjoin the stadium to the west and east.

The initial plans called for the development of a hotel, restaurants and shops in order to create a continual attraction to the site. The hotel and commercial development would help facilitate the youth baseball and annual events that are hosted at the stadium outside of the Boston Red Sox spring training season.
